G.M.Rajendran an alumnus of S.I.T with Diploma in Mechanical Engineering passed out with State-First Rank (Gold Medallist) in Tamilnadu in the year 1973. He qualified with AMIE (Mechanical) from Institution of Engineers Kolkata in 1979 followed with Masters of Engineering (Engineering Management) with First rank in University of Madras studied at then R.E.C,Trichy with specialisation in Industrial Marketing in 1983.

He served in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited ,Tiruchirappalli, a Maharatina Organisation under the Ministry of Heavy Industries Government of India for 41 years and retired as General Manager(Commercial) Valves. For his outstanding performances in marketing, Commercial activities, he has been awarded two Republic day awards (Gold medal) by the Executive Director, BHEL, Trichy in the years 1994 and  2001. Presently he is the Vice-president of SITAA (Seshasayee Institute of Technology Alumni Association) and Honorary Secretary of S.I.T
